Southern Girls Guide To Nashville, Tennesse

Our first trip to the Country music capital of the world was full of wonderful friends, AMAZING food, and great musical learning opportunities. As soon as we got off the plane, we heard live musicians playing in every restaurant in the airport and felt right at home! It was such a blessing to be able to perform at the Listening Room Cafe as part of Song Suffragettes, as well as to shoot a couple videos with some of our long-time friends. It was so great getting to make lots of new friends at our show!

Our tour dates continue in a couple weeks and we'd love for you to come see us at one of our shows!

We loved getting to meet up with the Cimorelli family while we were in town. We first met these sisters in 2010 when all of us were living in LA and trying to break it into the music industry. We are so proud of the wonderful, positive examples these young ladies are to such a huge audience, and how grounded they are in their faith! Though we spent most of our time talking, bonding and eating, we also shot a huge sister collab cover of "Burning House" by Cam. We love their family so much and are so grateful for their friendship!

Let's be real: y'all KNOW we love our Southern comfort food, and believe us when we say we got our fix on this trip. Growing up in North Carolina we had our fair share of Barbecue (Pork, not the verb), cole slaw, collard greens, fried chicken, fried okra, fried pickles, fried BUTTER. FRIED E'RYTHANG. We tried some of the best local food spots and it's safe to say Nashville knows how to do it right! We wanted to share some of the best places we found as well as the highlights of our trip with you.

The Cimorelli sisters told us that if there was one place we had to visit, it was Franklin. We were so thankful for the recommendation because Downtown Franklin is the cutest! We spent an afternoon exploring the shops and eating at every place we possibly could.

Pizza at the Mellow Mushroom almost put us to was SO good!

 Kilwin's bakery had delicious ice cream! A refreshing stop after walking in that Southern humidity all day;

So much of the culture in Tennessee was centered around Christ and this prayer wall was such a sweet find inside this cute boutique called Philanthropy. The shop donates a portion of their sales to a variety of worthy causes. Be sure to check out their online store!

We also visited the Nashville LDS temple in Franklin and were amazed by the HUGE butterflies that filled the garden! Absolutely beautiful!

We had a great view of the Nashville skyline while shooting our cover of "Drag Me Down" by One Direction and "As Long As You Love Me" by Justin Bieber.

In between takes, we couldn't resist taking some photos!

The traditional "Hold me, Jack!" pose.

Modeling is clearly in Lindsay & Mandi's future...

We heard from our friend Brad Cash (he shot our mashup video) that we had to try hot chicken while in Nashville, so we braved the super long line at Hattie B's to have the legit cultural experience.

We waited in line for 40 minutes in the rain just to get inside, and every minute was totally worth it!

It was the best chicken we have ever had!

Mandi and Hailey nearly CRIED over the chicken, it was that good! We'd recommend getting the mild small white chicken plate or the mild jumbo tenders. If you're brave, you can try to up the spice or just get the sauce on the side!

Visiting the Country Music Hall of Fame was definitely a highlight of our trip!

Elvis Presley & Johnny Cash were some of our favorites to read about in the museum!

Taylor Swift is a tiny human!

Brentwood was full of beautiful, picturesque scenery and some of the most incredible homes we have EVER seen. We visited Radnor Lake and were in love with how green it was!

Abby was able to spend time at a friends stable taking care of and riding her horse, Zip!

Lindsay didn't want to leave such a beautiful place!

We also want to thank everyone who came to see us at our show in Nashville. So many of you drove from the surrounding states just to come say hi to us, and we were so humbled by the support we received in a place we'd never even been to before! We loved every minute of our trip and can't wait to come back to Nashville soon!
